“We live in a world where the US authorities are increasingly brandishing the cudgel of sanctions. Our appeal is about this too. It expresses its readiness to resist military and economic blackmail in circumvention of the UN Charter,” said deputy Dmitry Novikov from the rostrum of the Russian parliament.

He recalled that the total damage from sanctions for Cuba exceeded $126 billion, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Under the conditions of US sanctions pressure on Russia, it is imperative to strengthen interstate friendly ties. Havana and Moscow often have a common point of view on issues of world politics. Cuba insists that anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States and its Western allies are counterproductive. The 90s are behind us. Russia will no longer abandon its own,” Novikov said.
