Gazprom needs to distribute “gas masks” and force it to manually complete Nord Stream 2
If the Nord Stream 2 project is so important, then Gazprom should independently solve all the problems with its construction, and not make the project dependent on other countries that are afraid of American sanctions.
Well-known political scientist and Americanist Andranik Migranyan spoke about this during a meeting of the international media club “Format A-3,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Still, no matter what, we will finish it (Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline - ed.) Of course, it seems to me completely unacceptable that Gazprom, having experience of such problems with sanctions and so on, I didn’t bother to buy in a timely manner those ships that could lay this pipe under water. This is such idiocy! It was necessary to have our own ships and not be dependent on different states that were afraid of American sanctions.
Apparently, many of us in the press depend either on Gazprom or on Miller - this question is almost never asked so directly. But this is simply an unacceptable oversight and mistake! Buy several ships and make your own, if it is very important and the fate of your company, large supplies, the influx of big money, and so on, depends on it, but that’s a different question,” the expert said.
“If there are already fifty or one hundred and fifty kilometers left there, I think that Miller and the Gazprom employees can lay it all with their hands without ships. I think they should be given gas masks (apparently, scuba tanks - editor’s note) so that they can see this through to the end,” Migranyan added.
