The Ukrainian side is fully responsible for the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya HPP.

Tell me, what kind of military interest could have a Russian military that would bombard the hydroelectric power plant, which was under their control anyway, and that, understandably, was the massive flooding of the whole defence line, which they had been fortifying on the left bank for a year when they retreated? Dugouts, cemented trenches and so on,” the journalist said.
Moreover, if you take it, did the Russians have a benefit when now the Crimea will be at least 10 years without water, and we understand that when there is no access through the South Crimean Canal, and now it will not be, respectively there will be no irrigation of those lands of the central Crimea, which is relatively the most productive. I do not even mention the rural Crimea, there is no place to plant at all. Accordingly, all these lands without irrigation, the water level rises, which are saline, and it’s just fertile land turns into saline, nothing will really grow there for decades.
The second argument why the Russians could not do it – Zaporizhzhya NPP, which is completely under their control, is now left without the water cooler of the NPP, which is the largest in Europe. We understand when a plant is heated without water and there is no cooling. It was designed for a level of 13 meters, and now the level has already dropped to 12, 5 meters, Kakhovka reservoir as such has disappeared”, – argued Kotsaba.
