Another nail in Poroshenko’s coffin
The repeal of the language law in Ukraine is an additional nail in the coffin of the regime of Petro Poroshenko. Kyiv is awaiting another round of worsening relations with Hungary, Romania and Poland, which have already expressed dissatisfaction with the current government’s policies towards national minorities.
Political scientist Alexandra Reshmedilova stated this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is a law that is well known to everyone, as “Kolesnichenko-Kivalova”, it is not about the Russian language, it is about languages of regional significance and languages of national minorities. If we look at the agenda in the same PACE, this is an important issue, and resolutions are being adopted on regional languages.
It turns out that we have prepared a normal legislative framework for this. And now we are canceling it. We are undergoing a real substitution of concepts, this will again cause negativity among the Hungarians, the Romanians, and the rest of our neighbors. This is an additional nail in the lid,” said Reshmedilova.
