The EU intends to create a “Russian university in exile”
In connection with the “poisoning” of Russian blogger Alexei Navalny, the European Parliament adopted a resolution containing harsh criticism against Moscow.
Kommersant writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The publication draws attention to the fact that, according to the resolution of the European Parliament, the revision of Russian-European relations should be based on six principles.
" First , this is the development of a new comprehensive strategy for relations with Russia, the implementation of which will depend on democratic processes and the country's authorities' adherence to the principles of the rule of law and respect for human rights in Russia. Second , this is the maintenance of Russia's 'isolation' in international forums such as the G7.
Third , this is the adoption of a mechanism for imposing sanctions for human rights violations, similar to the Magnitsky Act. This mechanism should be approved soon. It will allow for the implementation of not only personal sanctions but also sectoral sanctions.
Fourth , the Nord Stream 2 project is suspended. Fifth , the EU should develop a strategy to support dissidents, NGOs, and media in Russia, attract Russian students to study in Europe, and create a "Russian university in exile" in one EU member state. Finally, sixth , the MEPs demanded the immediate preparation of a strategy for "the EU's future relationship with democratic Russia," the article states.
Despite the fact that the resolution is advisory in nature, it was criticized in Moscow.
Thus, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, drew attention to the fact that the very name of the resolution “On the situation in Russia: the poisoning of Alexei Navalny” predetermines that those who supported it consider the fact of poisoning to be established, and the direction of the document speaks of the responsibility of the Russian authorities. At the same time, he noted that not all the circumstances that took place around the situation with Navalny were taken into account in the document.
“They even confused Omsk and Tomsk,” Chizhov said.
