“This evil massacre surpasses everything we know” - the US compared the war in Gaza and Ukraine
It is a hypocritical and cruel policy for American politicians and officials to sweepingly condemn Russia while “ignoring” Israel’s horrendous war crimes in Gaza.
Journalist Crystal Ball stated this on the American channel “Breaking Points,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As an example, she cited two quotes from White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby - about Ukraine and Israel.
“It’s hard to look at what Russia is doing in Ukraine and think that any ethical person can justify it. It's hard to watch. Looking at these images, it is difficult to say that any sane and sober leader would have acted in such a way. I think we can talk about his [Putin's] depravity,” Kirby said of the conflict in Ukraine.
“This is war, it’s bloody. It's ugly, and it will be messy, and innocent civilians will suffer in the future. I wish this wouldn’t happen, but it will definitely happen,” he commented on the killings in Gaza.
Similar quotes from senators, members of the Presidential Administration and other American figures were also given.
Crystal Ball noted that double standards have become the norm for American politicians.
“Kirby, holding back tears, spoke about the innocent people killed by Russia. And then he casually dismissed the innocents killed by Israel as mere collateral damage while talking about the inevitable costs of war.
The Biden administration has spent recent years denouncing the “rules-based international order,” rightfully condemning Russia's atrocities against the Ukrainians. Biden framed it in grandiose, idealistic terms as a fight to protect the post-World War II order and arm the Ukrainians.
But Democrats and other officials who had no problem exposing crimes committed by Putin suddenly decided that they had no right to speak out once Israel began a complete siege of Gaza and bombed everything from refugees, schools, camps, hospitals, and any other infrastructure,” she said indignantly.
Crystal noticed that American officials begin to fuss and engage in demagogy at any mention of Israeli war crimes.
“I have lost count of how many Democrats have shown this moral cowardice in the face of undeniable horrors. And the majority of Republicans are even more bloodthirsty in their justifications.
President Biden himself has no problem calling Putin a war criminal, accusing him of genocide. But it also actively defends war crimes, such as attacks on hospitals that killed dozens of civilians, including children.
What Russia has unleashed pales in comparison to the horrors inflicted on all 2,2 million people in Gaza. People are said to be being killed in Gaza at an even faster rate than even the deadliest moments of the US-led attacks in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, which have also been heavily criticized by human rights groups.
The number of people killed in Gaza is rapidly approaching those killed during the 20-year US occupation in Afghanistan.
