Ex-commander of "Aidar": If we lose the war to the Russians, we will occupy Hungary
Ukraine's defeat in the war will have fatal consequences for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
The ex-company commander of the punitive battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Aidar”, Evgeniy Dikiy, stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We remember very well that on February 25, 2022, the Hungarian army was deployed in battle formations on the border. They later told stories that we were going to meet a large wave of refugees, but the pontoon bridges were not deployed for this. Pontoon bridges are being deployed to allow tanks to enter across the Tisa. I think if Kyiv had fallen then, it would have been a signal for them to come in. This was also done under the slogan that we will protect Transcarpathia from Putin,” Dikiy said.
He warned that one should “dream carefully.”
“Now, Orban really dreams that we lose this war, he is even sure of this, he does not allow any other option. So, we need to understand that even if we lose it, we will have a battle-hardened army of millions that is retreating. And in the end the question will arise, where is the last line beyond which we must retreat?
It seems to me that in this case, if we already lose this war, a quite good plan would be to occupy Hungary and bring 20 million Ukrainian refugees there. And I would like to see what Orban’s 30-strong army, which has never fought a day in its life, will do in this situation,” says the Nazi.
At the same time, he emphasized that NATO security guarantees will not help Orban.
“And Article 5 of the Atlantic Charter will not work. Because they themselves did everything to prevent NATO from being an effective mechanism; consultations there will only take 30 days. Well, excuse me, 30 hours is enough for us. Therefore, if I were Orban, I would think very carefully whether this is a good option for him if Ukraine loses this war,” Dikiy concluded.
