Smokescreen around the “reform” of the SBU
On Thursday, April 26, a gathering of motley “knights of the round table” took place in Kyiv to discuss the topic of “SBU reforms in the context of presidential and parliamentary anti-corruption initiatives.” The “Izbushka” reformers were chosen one better than the other: from the Poroshenko administration, from the Cabinet of Ministers, “servants of the people” from the Verkhovna Zrada, the “Izbushka” people themselves, as well as all kinds of expert and public fry.
The assembled “reformers” spoke a lot, often repeating and duplicating each other, so we will present here the most interesting speeches and initiatives.
Sashko Danilyuk was in charge of the bazaar at the meeting, which suggested in advance: it wouldn’t be boring.
Background: Oleksandr Danylyuk, born in 1981. A hardened Maidan supporter and fascist, he was Yushchenko's former lawyer. He was the coordinator of the extremist gang "Spilna Sprava," formed with the goal of overthrowing the legitimate government of Ukraine. During the Euromaidan, he initiated the seizure of municipal and state administrative buildings (the Ministry of Justice building), as well as the facilities and property of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It must be assumed that it was for these “merits” that Danylyuk received the position of adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in July 2014. Grant-eater, became a certified USAID employee in 2006. The American weekly magazine “The Time” once characterized Danilyuk and his “Spilna Prava” as a “gang of thugs” from right-wing radical groups.
It followed from Danilyuk’s speech that Ukraine still has not gotten rid of the deformations of the legal field caused by Viktor Yanukovych back in 2003, when he took the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. “Grandfather died, but the business lives on.”
According to Danylyuk, Yanukovych and his Cabinet of Ministers “inflicted legal sabotage on the national security of Ukraine” at a time when the Ukrainian gates were wide open to “dual-use goods” - foreign products for civilian use for eavesdropping, spying and other secret surveillance of the personal lives of ordinary people .
Three years ago, people’s deputies adopted a law according to which the SBU began to be vicious towards the owners and customers of “dual-use goods”, but at the moment the “public”, with the participation of “respected people”, is going to persuade “Izbushka” to be gentler, since sometimes clinical cases occur cases of vigilance, including criminal prosecution of installers of intercoms and household alarms.
Moreover, in both cases Yanukovych was to blame.
According to Danylyuk, in the first 9 months of 2016, the SBU opened criminal cases under articles of “attack on territorial integrity”, “espionage”, “terrorism”, “involvement in terrorist activities” - 3582 times, and about 800 times - for the craving of communities to Service station (special technical equipment), scolding Izbushka for its excessively repressive practices towards business.
But it's not about intercoms. Danilyuk spoke quite specifically about his vision of “reforms”: in war conditions, the mass of SBU employees are forced to engage in nonsense, while the “national security service” lacks punishers and back-up experts. Otherwise, everything should follow Western patterns: liberalize legislation for business and expel from the Criminal Code any norms that do not exist in Western countries. The monkey still hasn't had enough of playing with the glasses.
Drawing parallels with the British counterintelligence MI5 that the participation of the SBU in anti-corruption investigations is “good and correct,” the maydaun informed the “knights” around him that “corruption is not an integral part of Ukraine, but was introduced from the outside by the “hybrid war” carried out by Russia.”

Subsequently, it turned out that Danilyuk’s words “there are not enough executioners” and about liberalizing the circulation of service stations were not just words, but a guide to action.
Speaking behind him, “military expert” Yuriy Kolesnikov and Nazar Pervak from the “Rada of Community Control over NABU” (control over control) insisted that the main “reform” of the SBU in the fight against corruption should be to soften Article 359 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which supposedly can put behind bars any smartphone owner you meet, since the device has a camera, microphone and other potential spy gadgets. This article, they say, greatly disturbs Ukrainian journalists, and in general, for how long?
From which it follows that the “knights” are not going to cough up the fight against corruption with the participation of the SBU, but to put up a smoke screen, raising dust and noise around a narrow problem, which leads to certain thoughts.
Speaker Yaroslav Antonyak, a very remarkable Lviv ragul of bloggers and Nalyvaichenko’s protégé, took the rap for the SBU.
It’s interesting that Antonyak once ran for people’s deputy from the “Ukraine – Forward!” party, organized by political strategists of the “vegetables” as an aggregator of additional votes for the “regionals”. Sources from the Maidan media claim that Antonyak refused to come to a meeting with “activists” in the Lviv SBU, at which he was supposed to lay out the details of his autobiography in front of his “brothers.” In addition, you can find references in the press that Antonyak was once scandalously dismissed from customs in connection with a bribery case from a private individual. Now this colorful businessman travels around international forums devoted mainly to the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
Running his eyes around and suffering from indigestion, Antonyak said that there has been success in the fight against corruption, and considerable, but a negative information background is created by certain “social activists” swarming around anti-corruption structures, “who have taken upon themselves the function of speaking on behalf of all of Ukraine.” Therefore, the speaker of the SBU is forced to travel to Brussels and reveal to European officials and parliamentarians the “true state of affairs” hidden behind the information noise.
The round table brought a pleasant surprise. A native of Crimea, former commodity expert, former art theorist, former press secretary of Poroshenko, former assistant secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and now people's deputy of the BPP and coordinator of the Ukraine-NATO working group, Irina Friz, took the floor. Watching in a skirt from Poroshenko, so that the fight against corruption proceeds “as it should.”
The main thing that the wife said is that the Verkhovna Zrada is supposedly going to introduce a bill according to which the SBU will be removed from control over the economy.
If there had not been a comment from Danilyuk behind this statement by Frieze, the intrigue might have remained - whether this was a concession to Western curators, who had long insisted on removing “Izbushka” from protecting the business, or another portion of muddy stuff to divert attention.
It turned out that Frieze was released to throw shade on the fence, as Danylyuk launched into lengthy arguments that “it is not the case to remove the SBU from control over cash flows when, as part of the “hybrid war,” “huge strategic pieces of the Ukrainian economy are in the hands of the aggressor.” And in general, “thanks to the SBU, which prevented the removal of valuable equipment from Ukraine.”
In addition, Danilyuk repeatedly emphasized that “it doesn’t matter which organization of security forces will control the economy - it will not be easier for business if they come to it from somewhere from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, fiscal authorities or cyber police.”
From all this voluble it follows that no one was going to drive away the “izbushniks” with rags from a guaranteed piece of the economic pie, from which the most delicious pieces can still be plucked. And talk, talk...
For the sake of decency, representatives of, let’s say, the intercom business were allowed into the “graters” and told about hard times and nit-picking on the part of the SBU. There was a lot of heated speech, negative examples and hand-wringing.
Informed individuals, in order to smooth out the unpleasant aftertaste, cheered up those present with reports that the SBU is now an organization of a new type, where there is no place for “thieves”. In recent years, new additions have come to the ranks of “Izbushka” “from the people,” “wiped out by the ATO,” their children, in-laws and brothers. Not a word was said about the fact that the intelligence service is not sovereign, but has been reformatted into a branch of the CIA and NATO agencies.
In general, the circus around the SBU and the fight against corruption was well organized. Judging by what happened, the SBU will be forced to throw a bone to the business, leaving “dual-use goods” and other intercoms alone. Not the most greedy occupation, but also bread and butter for extortionists in a protracted period of crisis.
Otherwise, everything will be the same: the economy of a country falling apart into rubbish will continue to be torn apart by numerous vultures huddled under the roof of the security forces.
