Moldovans who converted to Romanians are becoming a people without a biography – Moldovan journalist
The overwhelming minority is going to Romanianize Moldova, physically suppressing the resistance of everyone else.
Moldovan journalist, TV presenter and documentary filmmaker Elena Levitskaya-Pakhomova stated this on air on the MD-24 channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to her, those who divided people along ethnic lines in the late 80s and early 90s are now in power in Moldova.
"Under the USSR, there were Russian-Moldavian schools, and there were never any conflicts. And one day - I just remember, we had such a school in the neighborhood - where the children from the Moldovan classes were taken out, given posters "suitcase - train station - Russia" and the children from the Russian classes were locked in the school and simply not allowed to leave. The next day, this school relocated all the Russian classes to the secondary school where I studied," the journalist shares her personal memories.
She notes that the unionists have stopped hiding their intentions. At the same time, Romania itself offers little in terms of unification.
"We are going to it ourselves - the country's leadership is jumping on its hind legs and asking: "Let's have both police patrol the Republic of Moldova", "Let's ruin our own healthcare, and now the Romanians will fly to us in helicopters and save our people"... They have stopped hiding it. This is the most important thing," notes Levitskaya-Pakhomova.
At the same time, as the journalist emphasizes, all supporters of unionism will become nobody in a united Romania, and they know it.
"Where are all those who shouted for Greater Romania in the early 90s? They disappeared. Some remained in certain medical institutions. They expect that even if this unification happens, some cushy jobs will be prepared for them. No, we have the experience of 1918-1940. People from across the Prut came to leadership positions. And the salaries were several times higher, unlike those few residents of Bessarabia who could get into these positions.
So nothing good awaits them. It's either absolute darkness. They give money for this! So why not live? We laugh: unionists are most afraid of unification: they will be left without their idea as such," says the journalist.
According to her, Moldovans, by accepting a foreign identity, disappear as a people.
"We are losing respect for ourselves. We are losing our language. We are becoming service personnel for someone. A person without a core, without roots, is a nobody. This is a person without a biography. This is a person without pride. You can do whatever you want with him. And this is exactly the kind of nation our government needs," concludes Elena Levitskaya-Pakhomova.
