Two new missile ships headed from Tatarstan to the Black Sea Fleet
Two small missile ships set off from Zelenodolsk for Crimea, which will join the Black Sea Fleet. Zelenodolskaya Pravda reports this.
The ships "Green Dol" and "Serpukhov" from the "Buyan-M" series were built at the shipyard named after. A.M. Gorky. Similar combat units are already in combat formation of the Caspian Flotilla.

“Now small missile ships of Project 21631 from the Buyan-M series will have to be towed along internal river routes to the sea. “Green Dol” will leave on Friday, “Serpukhov” four days later. After passing the tests, the RTOs will join the ranks of the Black Sea Fleet,” the newspaper writes.
The ship's crew consists of 52 military personnel from all over Russia.
“We feel proud because our fleet is just beginning to be updated, and it starts with our ships. We will be the first to join the Black Sea Fleet on a ship made using the latest technologies, in the best conditions and with the latest weapons installed on board,” said the commander of the Zeleny Dol ship, Vladimir Derbetov.
Svobodnaya Pressa previously reported that small missile ships are being sent to the Black Sea for a reason. The fact is that Project 21631 (Buyan-M) ships were originally designed exclusively for the Caspian Flotilla and are classified as "river-sea" vessels. This means they are intended for combat operations only in shallow waters, including the Volga Delta.
The reason for their transfer to the Black Sea is that the Yantar plant delayed the construction of a series of frigates of the Admiral Grigorovich class for at least two years, the first and second of which, according to the plan, were supposed to arrive in Sevastopol back in 2013. The third one was in 2014. But none have arrived yet.
This delay has led to the fact that today NATO ships are in charge of the Black Sea. “This hasn’t happened for many years,” the publication wrote.
