“Maidan Trust” has become an indulgence for the authorities who are putting pressure on those who disagree with the war
Mariupol, February 08 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs, People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Anton Gerashchenko believes that the trust of the Maidan allows the authorities to take tough steps against those who do not agree with the mobilization.

As PolitNavigator reported, Gerashchenko announced yesterday evening that participants in the rally in Mariupol against mobilization would be detained.
“After my post yesterday calling for tough action against the separatist underground in Mariupol, which is working to disrupt mobilization, they started writing on Facebook that Gerashchenko is a flayer and a violator of human rights,” he wrote today on his Facebook page.
“They say that even under Yanukovych, officials did not threaten citizens who wanted to gather for a peaceful rally. I am a self-critical person, but in this case I do not agree with the critics. Mariupol is a front-line Ukrainian town (the author’s spelling has been preserved - editor’s note),” he said. “It should not be allowed to be rocked by free or unwilling accomplices of the Russian special services. And the government, which has received the credit of trust from the Maidan, cannot afford to allow an orgy of anti-Ukrainian sentiment there, fueled by calls from provocateurs to disrupt mobilization,” Gerashchenko believes.
As a reminder, yesterday the SBU detained journalist Ruslan Kotsaba, who openly spoke out against mobilization, and today a court ordered his arrest for 60 days.
