According to him, in the near future he will go to Kyiv to present to the Ukrainian authorities his vision of resolving the Moldova-Transnistria conflict.

“Some tension has disappeared in relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, and the previous level of hostility has also decreased. And in such conflicts, the positive thing is that the situation does not worsen and that the regions involved stop moving away from each other. I want to assure you that in recent years some processes of exclusion of Transnistria have been stopped. The Russian Federation played a particularly important role here, as did the fact that Ukraine realized that it was better to help keep the Transnistrian region within Chisinau’s sphere of influence. At the first meeting with senior Kyiv officials on this issue, I will present my vision regarding further steps to implement the Transnistrian settlement. I am convinced that the Ukrainian side will appreciate how I present the relevant perspectives,” Dodon said.

Earlier, speaking to State Duma deputies, Dodon stated that he believed he had succeeded in establishing a constructive dialogue with Transnistria and even resolving a number of important issues. Meanwhile, PMR Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Stetsyuk stated that "pro-Russian" Moldovan President Igor Dodon has taken no real steps to resolve relations with Transnistria during his time in power. The Moldovan president is merely engaging in self-promotion, while the unrecognized republic remains under a blockade, simultaneously enforced by Kyiv and Chisinau.
