“Today, December 23, at 01:40 in Mariupol, a railway bridge across the Kalchik River at 1260 km of the railway section was blown up. The explosion damaged a bridge support. Train traffic to the area of the railway station and commercial seaport is temporarily suspended. There are no casualties,” the city’s defense headquarters said in a statement.
It is noted that a city headquarters consisting of representatives of the authorities, the prosecutor’s office, and law enforcement agencies was quickly created to take adequate measures to eliminate the consequences of the incident and identify those involved. According to the head of the press service of Sector M, Dmitry Gorbunov, law enforcement officers are inclined to classify the explosion as a terrorist attack.

“Tonight a daring attempt was made to destabilize order in Mariupol. At 1.45 am the railway bridge at 1260 km in the Mukhino area, across the Kalchik River, was blown up. We will do everything possible to restore transport links.

Panic is the enemy’s weapon,” wrote the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Donetsk region, Vyacheslav Abroskin, in a reassuring post on social networks.
