Denis Pushilin explained why Russia rejected Volcker's proposals
The meeting between assistants to the US and Russian presidents Kurt Volker and Vladislav Surkov, which took place last Monday, was not crowned with any success. 26 of the 29 points proposed by Volcker were rejected by Moscow. The position of the Russian Federation, as well as the republics, still remains unchanged and “this position is reflected in Russia’s draft resolution.”

This statement was made by the official representative of the DPR at the Contact Group negotiations in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He believes that Russia rejected almost all the amendments and proposals of the Americans because they, in essence, would have realized Ukraine’s goals of seizing Donbass:
“As for the large number of amendments voiced by the American representative, I think that most of them turned out to be inappropriate precisely for the reason that they repeated Ukraine’s replicated wishes for peacekeepers, who, in essence, would realize Ukraine’s goals to seize the Donbass with the wrong hands,” noted He.
At the same time, Pushilin believes that the intensity of the meetings will not decrease.
“We continue to count on assistance to the Minsk process from the Russia-US format. At the same time, we would like to once again remind you that without a political basis, resolving only security issues, it will not be possible to resolve the conflict, with or without a UN contingent,” summed up the official representative of the DPR at the Contact Group negotiations.
