“You can’t fight in the trenches with money. We need shells” - Karasev
The United States can print as much money as it wants for Ukraine, but it becomes useless because Western countries are not ready to take a war footing.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Do you think GDP is good? In the USA, the share of service sectors is 78% of GDP, in the European Union 73%. What does this mean? What if we urgently need to transfer the economy to a war footing, how will you transfer it, brokers? Lawyers, hairdressers, barbershops? All service industry. And here there is money, the European Union can print a million shells for Ukraine, but how to produce the shells?
This requires human resources, labor resources. Where can you get it, if everything is in barbershops, if everything is in nightclubs? Well, in the West these are banks, large investment funds, Elon Musk’s figure, and so on. But Elon Musk, Starlink - yes, and everything else? Can he release tanks or not?” the expert said.
“Will help come or will they refuse? Let’s say Europe says: “No, we have allocated money for a million shells.” Well, okay, the money was allocated. And in war it’s empty, because in war you won’t be able to pay much with money in the trenches. We need shells, we need cartridges and everything else,” Karasev is indignant.
