CIA seeks to spark civil war in Russia by carrying out terrorist attacks - American analyst
The intelligence services of Western countries are conducting a campaign to incite interethnic and interreligious hatred in Russia.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said this on the Internet channel “Dialogue Works,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
" They [the CIA] are trying to stir up hostility towards the Muslim population . There are 190 different ethnic groups living in Russia – Chechens, Ossetians, Ingush, Tajiks, Uzbeks.
Even though Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are separate countries, ethnic populations from these countries still live within Russia’s borders. There are Muslims, there are Hindus. This is quite a complex mixture.
And as far as the CIA and MI6 are concerned, I have no doubt that they were developing plans to try to foment ethnic hatred in Russia in an attempt to split Russia, to cause a breakup in Russia , and possibly to cause an internal civil war,” Johnson said.
“And I think this is an attack that was initiated from Ukraine, but with the assistance of both British and American intelligence officers. But the goal was to try to create an incident that would discredit Vladimir Putin,” the intelligence officer added.
