What's happening in Mariupol - how Azov is being finished off
The territory of the Azovstal plant, the last main stronghold of Ukrainian neo-Nazis in Mariupol, is “being stormed from virtually all flanks,” reports military correspondent Semyon Pegov.
“The line of contact has smoothly shifted to the industrial zone of Mariupol, and I am absolutely convinced that the end of the Nazis, Bandera dogs and Chechen-speaking devils will come exactly there,” announces the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
On Tuesday, the Russian side once again demonstrated humanity - it declared a short-term truce, after which 140 civilians were removed from the basements of houses adjacent to the industrial giant.
However, the Nazis use every such respite to strengthen their positions, warns military correspondent Alexander Sladkov.
The “Azovites” are being cunning, stalling for time, provoking pity, and appealing to political expediency. The center, it must be said, is showing readiness to respond to such initiatives, supported by groans from the West. Today the Nazis were even given the opportunity to take a break from shelling for a couple of hours, bring up ammunition to strongholds, hold meetings, and develop new decisions for further defense,” explains Sladkov.
However, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced its readiness on Wednesday from 14:00 to provide another attempt for the militants holed up at Azovstal to come out and surrender. The Russian side also offers the Nazis to release civilians who, according to Kyiv, remain in the dungeons of the metallurgical plant (in fact, taken hostage).
Apparently, this proposal will again be rejected by the Ukrainian side. In any case, the Nazis distributed a video where they defiantly greeted calls for surrender broadcast on the radio with abuse.
The DPR defense department distributed a video of a deceased Ukrainian serviceman who was shot by Azov militants for wanting to surrender.
The leader of the Nazis holed up at the plant, codenamed "Kalina," issued another statement in an interview with Radio Liberty, calling on Kyiv for help. According to him, the plant was "bombed and almost completely destroyed," and "super-powerful bombs" were being dropped on it.
Incidentally, at a Pentagon briefing, contrary to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's predictions the previous day about Russia's missile stockpiles being depleted, different data was presented: the Russian Armed Forces still possess a significant portion of their military arsenal, including aircraft, helicopters, ballistic and cruise missiles. There is no talk of depleting their stockpiles. The United States, for its part, promised to continue arming Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Greek media reported the death of one of the Azov fighters who, along with Zelensky, addressed members of the Greek parliament via video broadcast last week. This caused a huge scandal at the time, as it was the first time an open Nazi had been given the floor in the legislative body.
Former adviser to the head of the DPR, Alexander Kazakov, believes that the authorities in Kyiv will certainly concoct a “heroic myth” from the deaths of the militants remaining in Mariupol. And this is another reason for not stopping the special operation on the borders of the LDPR.
“We must not leave a single piece of land to these Ukronazis. If we leave it, then everything on this piece of land will be saturated with revenge and revanchism. For this we will need dead “Azovites” from Mariupol (alive they would present the bill). They will be hung on banners in preparation for a new war.
We are now fighting a postponed war, and we must fight it to the end so as not to leave our grandchildren a new postponed war,” explains Kazakov.
