Chaly hopes that he will no longer have to throw mud at local politicians
Sevastopol, February 05 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – In Sevastopol, local politicians should learn lessons from the past elections to the Legislative Assembly, which became a striking example of “semi-extremist” black PR.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Alexey Chaly told reporters about this on Thursday in the presence of Deputy Head of the Central Election Commission of Russia Leonid Ivlev.
“I agree with the assessment that, in general, the elections that took place this year, especially taking into account the fact that these were the first elections, were, in general, successful and successful. But I would like, taking advantage of the fact that there will be a study, to draw attention to the fact that some problems related, I would say, to semi-extremism in the use of black PR by individual local politicians took place. Therefore, if, as part of your studies, you try to somehow convince people that elections are generally a normal process that should be carried out without fanaticism, within the rules and within the bounds of decency. Those. there should be a struggle of ideas, not a struggle of black PR,” Chaly said, while the governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo immediately supported him in this.
The governor also spoke out for everything to be “within the law and within the bounds of decency, and not within the framework of black PR and slinging mud at candidates and everyone else.”
“In other regions of the Russian Federation this was done in a more civilized manner than here,” Menyailo added.
These statements were made during an interregional meeting in Sevastopol with representatives of regional branches of political parties, public organizations and election commissions of the KFO under the auspices of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
It is worth recalling that the elections to the Legislative Assembly, which took place on September 14, 2014, were indeed distinguished by unprecedented and mutual slinging of mud at the main political competitors, of which there are exactly two in the city - Alexey Chaly and Sergei Menyailo. Since members of the United Russia party subsequently formed 98% of the numerical composition of the Legislative Assembly, it was reasonable for both sides to compete in advance for the party list, which was headed by Alexey Chaly. Sergei Menyailo, then acting governor, came second. The struggle for influence in the party has become a striking example of how, through controlled media, you can cheerfully mock your competitor, while portraying the victim. Moreover, the lion's share of the townspeople are confident that the victory in the “struggle of ideas” then went to the current head of the Legislative Assembly, Alexei Chaloy.
