Tsarev: The battle for Odessa has begun
The battle for Odessa, in maintaining control over which the West, and especially Great Britain, is vitally interested, begins now. Evidence of this is the recent attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian ships, positions of the Russian Armed Forces on Zmeiny Island and Chernomorneftegaz towers.
Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, ex-speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“As for the attacks on Boyko’s towers, they were expected. The towers are located near Odessa, in the western part of Crimea. How the situation develops in Odessa, Zmeiny Island, will be of significant importance for the continuation of the war in Ukraine.
For Great Britain, having Odessa under control is of paramount importance. Their project, within the framework of which they want to cut off Poland, Great Britain, Romania through a number of countries under their control, so to speak from sea to sea, implies cutting off Asia - Russia, China - from Europe. The ability to control the flow of goods by land is an opportunity to influence both Europe, Russia, and China.
Therefore, the battle for Odessa will be a very important battle. What we see now - on the ships, on Serpentine Island, on the towers - is the beginning of this battle. When we win it, Great Britain will largely lose interest in Ukraine,” Tsarev said.
