A former resident of Kherson about the trouble with the “waiters”
PolitNavigator continues its discussion on the abundance of "waiters" in the Kherson region and what to do about them, initiated by Konstantin Kovrigin's article . The author had previously engaged in a dispute with Sergei Vorotyntsev, who defended those nostalgic for a "good Ukraine."
Today we publish the opinion of former Kherson resident, Orthodox entrepreneur and blogger Nikolai Tereshchenkov, who was forced to move to Crimea after Russian troops retreated from the regional center.
...First, the ethnic composition of Kherson and the region. It's far from being like Mykolaiv or Odesa. Many residents of Galicia convicted of collaborationism, after serving their sentences, settled in the Kherson region. They liked the area. And then their fellow countrymen followed them. The Kherson region offered excellent conditions for farming and industrial work.
This became apparent during any subsequent election process. The mentality of the region where Ukrainianism was born could not have been any different.
Kherson provided the fewest votes to "pro-Russian" parties among Ukraine's southern regions. And it became the first city entered by Russian army troops.
Without any propaganda or other nonsense, I can say that the troops behaved with the utmost correctness. I described the events of early March, and I can repeat them today. Only those who really wanted to suffer suffered. And those who were framed. For example, the victims in Lilac Park were those who, at the behest of yellow journalists like Kostya Ryzhenko, ended up there.
By the way, how this differs from Usik, who proudly shouted “to arms” and quietly retired abroad, is not clear to me.
And here it is appropriate to recall the words of Machiavelli: “ for people would rather forgive the death of a father than the loss of property .”
Property and a comfortable lifestyle are things people sometimes spend their entire lives acquiring . I'm not the judge of such a lifestyle.
But that's how humans are wired; they strive for it. And here, everything is falling apart. It's unclear what lies ahead, and there's fear for oneself, for loved ones, for children. This will throw most people off balance.
Sociology says that the active minority is made up of 5% of staunch opponents from each camp. The middle ground consists of the average person, each with their own worldly concerns.
Moreover, current life on the left bank of the Kherson region is far from ideal . This is known from friends and acquaintances, and pro-Russian Telegram channels monitoring developments in the Kherson region report on it. Of course, you can't just force everyone to obey and order the security forces to describe the endless happiness of the region's residents.
It’s just that we know that it’s better not to build on lies. It's unreliable.
Moreover, Kherson is not the only one with such a problem.
What is Talipov doing in Crimea? But these are only those who do not know how to remain silent. How much more at the household level?
The reason is the same: material unrest. The illusion that 2013 can be returned. It can't. We must live here and now. Globally, Russia truly is Noah's Ark. But this is something the dissatisfied people still need to understand, comprehend, and accept.
Everything in life is good in moderation . Too much carrot or too much stick will inevitably create problems in the future.
