The future of the Ukrainian economy is looking increasingly bleak
Ukraine will face a further decline in the economy and a deterioration in the standard of living of the population.
This was stated on air by the "alternative government" expert Valentin Zemlyansky on TV channel 112, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, the economic results of the quarantine imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic will be visible in about six months.
“We don’t see the full effect yet, because this is a fairly long story, inertial, it will hit even further. We are at the very beginning of the economic results of what happened... Six months, no less. It’s very easy to stop and start again... Look, the airlines are the most striking example, it’s simply indicative.
You can stop it - no problem. Reactivating the plane, starting this story again - that's all money. I think it’s the same story in any type of business,” said Zemlyansky.
He emphasized that ahead is a decline in the standard of living of Ukrainians.
“It will happen, we feel it ourselves, we see it every day in price tags and other things. Moreover, it will be aggravated by objective factors. The same tariff issue will again be on the agenda. It’s just that because of the quarantine, they forgot about it, no one talked about it, but now the bells are already ringing, the IMF is already sending us greetings again. Unfortunately, our economic situation, ordinary Ukrainians, will only get worse. Both from the point of view of salaries, and from the point of view of the prices and tariffs that will have to be paid,” concluded Zemlnsky.
