Fighters against the pro-Western government of Bulgaria turned to the West for help
Informal leaders of the protest against the pro-Western government of Bulgaria, the so-called “Poisonous Trio” - professor Velislav Minekov, lawyer Nikolai Hadzhigenov and PR specialist Arman Babikyan appealed to the EU structures, embassies of European countries and the USA
The organizers of the protests, which have been going on for the 62nd day, have come to the conclusion that the political crisis in Bulgaria cannot be resolved without foreign intervention.
Minekov, Khadzhigenov and Babikyan sent letters to the embassies of the European Union countries, the US Embassy, and the representative office of the European Commission in Bulgaria, calling for attention to the situation in the country.
“In Bulgaria there is no rule of law, the market economy does not work, and there is no talk of stable democracy,” the Poisonous Trio wrote in its appeal. “The current situation requires the intervention of NATO member countries, because the values of society are being violated in Bulgaria - respect for the principles of personal freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.”
The authors of the letter to the ambassadors asked them to convey the information contained in it to their governments. Also today, protesters went to the Second District Police Department of Sofia to get back the tents and things seized by law enforcement officers during the destruction of the protest camp on the Eagle Bridge on September 2. They even compiled a list of the confiscated items, but in response they were demanded to provide documents proving that these things belonged to them.
