After the victory of the Maidan, the cook of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was the first to swear allegiance to Avakov and Nalyvaichenko
Kyiv, July 25 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Former head of the presidential administration Sergei Pashinsky tried to justify the inability of the new government to arrest Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage shortly after the Maidan victory.

“Who could they be arrested with? What is currently fighting with the Crimean Berkut on the side of the separatists? Yes, Nalyvaichenko and Avakov actually flew to Crimea when Yanukovych was there. But in order to detain him, you had to have someone to do it with. So what if then Nalyvaichenko was the head of the SBU, and Avakov was the Minister of Internal Affairs? Who should they have given the command to arrest Yanukovych? A simple policeman or Berkut? To whom?" – Pashinsky said in an interview with Kraina magazine.
However, the journalist clarified, why then did Nalyvaichenko and Avakov go to Crimea only together?
“Who should they have taken? 20 people with bats? We had no one then! There was Nalyvaichenko - an individual, and that’s all. When I went to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with Avakov and Yarema on February 23, there were four people there: two police officers, the head of the personnel department and a cook. The rest ran away. Was it necessary to give the command to those four to form a column and go to Crimea to arrest Yanukovych?” – Pashinsky explained the inactivity of the security forces.
