Avakov rehearsed the entourage of Poroshenko’s gang
Today’s pre-election congress of Petro Poroshenko can also be considered as a rehearsal for a coup d’etat by the National Guard, subordinate to the president’s long-time rival, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
Political scientist Oleg Khavich discusses this in his blog, commenting on photos from the congress in Kiev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Poroshenko’s nomination for a second term took place surrounded by several hundred National Guard troops. I think this is an exercise: the next forum of Poroshenko supporters will be held at the stadium, and then everything will be like in Chile,” commented Khavic.
Let us remember that in 1973 there was a military coup in Chile. The regime of General Augusto Pinochet turned the National Stadium into a prison for two months for those arrested on suspicion of sympathizing with former President Salvador Allende. Several tens of thousands of people were imprisoned here; thousands of people died during torture and executions.
