“There will be the first experiment in the city. The traffic police in its current form will be abolished. A new patrol police service, equipped with new cars, equipment - and most importantly, new functions. Simplified registration procedures. Introduction of an electronic control system for traffic rules,” Avakov said on his Facebook page.
“We need to start in January. There is a lot of work and details that have not been fully resolved,” he admitted. According to him, after Khmelnitsky, adaptation of the innovation will take place in Kyiv, then everywhere.
“The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers approved samples of tokens and a system of personal numbers for everyone. During January-February 2015, every policeman, hopefully by that time a policeman, will have his own personal badge with a personal number to wear on his official uniform while on patrol and a corresponding number on his helmets,” the minister informed.
As PolitNavigator reported, Avakov intends to reform the law enforcement system . Former President Viktor Yushchenko had already abolished the State Traffic Inspectorate: after a rise in traffic accidents, the structure had to be reinstated.
