Anti-Russian sanctions have brought down German exports to Ukraine by a third
Anti-Russian sanctions have not only harmed German exports to Russia, as reported today by the German Economic News , but also significantly reduced exports to Ukraine. The conflict in the eastern part of the country has reduced exports to the level of the 2009 crisis. This is especially true for German automakers.

The Ukrainian conflict harms the business of German exporters, German journalists write. Exports from Germany fell to their lowest level since 2009. Exports to Ukraine fell by a third (33,1%) compared to last year, the Federal Bureau of Statistics announced on Wednesday. With a total export volume of 3,6 billion euros, this is a significant loss.
More than half of Germany's exports to Ukraine last year were made up of four types of goods: equipment, chemicals, cars and pharmaceutical products. At the same time, exports from Ukraine grew by only 1,6% over the year, despite the promised open borders with Ukraine. Ukraine has increased the supply of certain types of auto parts, mainly grain, to Germany.
Let us remind you that the export of German goods to Russia has suffered significantly due to sanctions.
