Analyst: Russia lacks creators of combat UAVs
In Russia, there is a shortage of personnel capable of solving issues of providing the army with drones.
This was stated by Alexei Kulakov, a representative of the Union of Officers of Russia, during a round table in Moscow, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Kulakov, Russia has not yet recovered from the days of the 90s, when the most qualified personnel emigrated from the country en masse.
“At the moment, we are developing developments, I don’t follow it closely, but I keep an eye on it... The trouble is that there are not enough specialists. They left like in the 90s, and, unfortunately, they are still leaving. This is one of the reasons why everything is bad; this area of creating unmanned aerial vehicles is not being developed enough,” the expert said.
“Young people need to be involved in this matter. There are various clubs and so on in schools, robotics - this needs to be developed in order to identify more talented people and take note of them. And, again, all this needs to be financed so that people feel that the state cares about them, that there are funds for this,” Kulakov said.
