The American general named the main targets for the F-16 in Ukraine
Russian fighters and air defense systems will be the main targets for the F-16s transferred to Ukraine.
American Lieutenant General of the Aerospace Forces David Deptula, who planned the air part of Operation Desert Storm, said this on air on the First Western TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Deptula, the task of Ukrainian pilots will be to level the air defense systems of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Planning an air campaign involves creating conditions under which air defense systems become ineffective. It provides for the destruction of air defense system launchers. Of course, some people mistakenly believe that modern fighters are extremely vulnerable to air defense.
I can say that those who make such assumptions have no experience in planning or executing air warfare. Destroying enemy missiles and enemy air defense systems is the F-16's primary mission. The pilots I personally know who fly the F-16 and the Ukrainian pilots will also view Russian air defense systems as their most important targets. So are fighter aircraft, which Russia uses very inefficiently,” Deptula said.
