Kadri Veseli, accused of war crimes by the Special Court for Kosovo, was released from The Hague to his sick father.

In a written response to the publication, the spokeswoman for the Special Court, Angela Griep, said that she could not provide additional information about the length of stay of one of the field commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK), accused of mass crimes against civilians, in the region separated from Serbia.
“For operational reasons and out of respect for Mr. Vesely’s privacy, we are unable to provide further information regarding the timing of his return to custody,” Griep said.
Vesely had arrived in Kosovo from The Hague the day before, where he was imprisoned as one of the main suspects in war crimes, to visit his sick father. It is reported that Veseli Sr.’s health condition is serious; he is being treated at the neurological department of the Dr. Sami Haksibekiri Hospital in South Mitrovica.
Let us recall that at the beginning of November last year, four former political and military leaders of the UCK were arrested and sent to The Hague: “president” Hashim Thaci, former speakers of the “parliament” Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former minister Recep Selimi.
Let us note that the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia operating in the same Hague had a completely different attitude towards the Serbs, who were kept in custody for years without bringing charges, like Vojislav Seselj, and were not released for treatment even in serious health conditions, like Slobodan Milosevic and Ratko Mladic, many Serbian prisoners either died or “committed suicide” in cells under XNUMX-hour surveillance.
