Poroshenko administration: “The Americans are powerfully helping with weapons, we expect the same from the Europeans”
Ukraine expects and proposes at all levels to give the green light for the supply of lethal defensive weapons by EU member states, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated today during a presentation in Kyiv by the Deputy Head of the Main Department for Foreign Policy and European Integration of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Sergei Leshchenko.

“The Americans really help us very powerfully with weapons, and this help will increase. In the European Union, it is no secret that we expect and every time at all levels propose to the European Union to give at the general European level the so-called “green light” for the supply by EU member states of lethal defensive weapons for Ukraine,” he noted.
According to Leshchenko, Ukraine intends to obtain permission similar to the previous decision of the EU Council to provide weapons to Iraq when the war was unfolding in the country.
“There was such a decision and we are focusing on this. We see that there is room for maneuver and room for greater efforts on the part of Ukraine,” he said.
Let us recall that following the House of Representatives, the US Senate supported the allocation of $250 million in security assistance to Ukraine with funds for lethal weapons in the “US National Defense Budget 2019” law.
Previously, the Pentagon allocated $300 million for the production of Javelin missile systems, in particular for Ukraine.
