“What if there’s a Newbie!” – a slight malaise frightened the Polish diplomat
Polish diplomat Jakub Kumoch, who accompanied the Ukrainian delegation to the 2022 talks, admitted that he feared being poisoned by the infamous Novichok nerve agent after meeting with Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
He spoke about this in an interview with journalist Marcin Kendrina, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Kendrina asked to comment on rumors about the poisoning of oligarch Roman Abramovich, who participated in negotiations in Istanbul and also visited Ukraine.
“I can only talk about what I saw myself. And I saw a man who complained of an illness similar to the one his colleague had. In Ankara, we immediately went to the clinic where they were examined.
"I also really wanted to know if I had any traces of Novichok or anything similar before I saw my wife and children. The doctor said it was some kind of harmless chemical , and everything would be fine... I think this someone was more interested in intimidation than harm. "They were saying, 'Don't think you can escape us,'" the diplomat recalled.
He also recalled Abramovich’s considerable contribution to the negotiation process.
“He shuttled between Putin and Zelensky, visiting Turkey and Israel. Subsequently, I was told that Abramovich played a certain role in the exchange of prisoners from the Azov battalion,” Kumoh said.
Let us note that “poisoning” did not prevent Roman Abramovich from appearing in public, participating in negotiations and traveling to different countries.
