96 percent of Ukrainians have difficulties paying for utilities, and half have become debtors
The Ukrainian population complains about the decline in purchasing power and the loss of savings accumulated before the Maidan.

The chairman of the board of the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research, Olga Balakireva, spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv, sharing the results of a social study, during which respondents were asked how the devaluation of the hryvnia affected their well-being.
“96 percent say that their purchasing power has fallen, the same percentage say they have difficulty paying utility bills, and the same percentage say their wages have depreciated. 80 percent say that their hryvnia savings have practically been “eaten up”, and half have become debtors in one form or another. From my point of view, these are frightening figures that characterize the growth of poverty,” the sociologist emphasized.
