“Call Pushilin”: Moscow refused to talk with Ukraine
In the current situation of escalation on the confrontation line in Donbass, the Ukrainian leadership is looking for ways to reach Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Thus, sources in Russian government agencies involved in the Donbass problem reported that they know nothing about contacts between Russian and Ukrainian high-ranking negotiators.
According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, the Ukrainian side is trying to get in touch with the Russian president in various ways, including through Western leaders.
Another representative of the Russian government agency, answering the question whether the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andrei Ermak called his Russian partner in the Normandy format Dmitry Kozak, said:
“He should not call Kozak, but Pushilin.”
In turn, the newspaper indicates that it may become clear in the near future whether there is a chance for de-escalation or not.
“Kyiv expects that an extraordinary meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass will take place on February 19 (the scheduled meeting was supposed to take place on March 1–2). Moscow has already expressed its readiness to take part in it if this meeting is agreed upon by Ukraine and the Donbass republics. In such a scenario, this will be the very direct dialogue that both the unrecognized DPR and LPR, and Russia talk about the need for,” the publication sums up.
