In winter, the Russian Armed Forces will go on a strategic offensive - forecast
Artemovsk, liberated in May, continues to attract a significant portion of Ukrainian forces.
Military analyst Alexei Sukonkin stated this, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent , in response to a question about the importance of Artemovsk, where fierce fighting is taking place, for the Russian Armed Forces.

“Artemovsk probably still continues to serve as a distraction from Avdeevka. Russian forces are forcing the enemy to abandon the idea of transferring additional units from there to Avdievka. To prevent the enemy from withdrawing units from other directions, Russian troops are conducting constant offensive operations, not large-scale, but not allowing their units to be withdrawn,” Sukonkin said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
In his opinion, the Kupyansk direction is promising for the Russian army.
“It will be developed because Kharkov, in the understanding of many people, is a Russian city. And the fact that he will be released is probably not even worth discussing. I think that this direction will not be abandoned and will continue,” the expert is convinced.
In addition, he answered the question of when a major offensive should be expected from the Russian Armed Forces.
“We can assume that in winter the Russian army will move from strategic defense to strategic offensive. But the beginning will be the resolution of the issue with Avdeevka,” summed up Sukonkin.
