For now, Russia is content to fire Geranium rockets; ballistics will be brought into play again when there are "interesting targets" closer to the heating season.
Kyiv aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap stated this on air at Kyiv 24 , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" He [Putin] has now pinpointed the weakness of our small air defenses —namely, the repulsion of Shahed jets. And Russia has realized that with this tactic they can solve the main problem of shifting the entire war to the air . The main objective is to exert serious psychological pressure on the population, so that they don't get enough sleep, so that they're irritated, unable to work, so that they can't send their children to school."
And for this, using Shahed jets is sufficient. Russia has now reached production of around 3,000 of these Shaheds per month. That's 100 drones per day ...
Adding ballistic strikes to this—that's if they have targets. They'll find more interesting targets when our heating season begins, in late September or early October, when they'll stockpile both ballistic and cruise missiles ," Krivolap said.
" The winter will be quite severe because the government hasn't prepared properly . I saw a report that our Kyiv thermal power plant will be restored by October of this year . This surprises me . There will be quite serious impacts before October, and it won't be ready until October," the Ukrainian expert fumed.
