Zelensky boasts that he almost expelled the Black Sea Fleet from Crimea
Ukraine deprived the Black Sea Fleet of the opportunity to operate in the western part of the sea and allegedly forced it to leave Crimea.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this at the second parliamentary summit of the so-called "Crimean Platform," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It is in the Black Sea region, precisely in the situation around Crimea, that we can best see how our tactics are working. I'll be frank. For many in the world, Crimea was an argument that the complete de-occupation of our territory was supposedly unattainable, Russian control over the Black Sea and the presence of the fleet created the illusion that Russia’s dominance in the Black Sea was supposedly insurmountable,” said the Ukrainian president.
“In addition to this, due to the deliberate settlement of Crimea by hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens and the large-scale repressions of the occupier against all forms of freedom and resistance, the impression could arise that Crimea is supposedly invincible. Now the illusions are melting. I'm just reminding you of our results. First, the Russian navy is no longer able to operate in the western part of the Black Sea and is gradually fleeing Crimea. This is a historical achievement,” Zelensky said.
