Western Ukraine is falling into the economic abyss faster than other regions
The western regions of Ukraine are feeling the economic crisis much more strongly than other regions of the country. Its reason is the inept policy of official Kyiv, and not the war in Donbass, which the Ukrainian authorities constantly refer to.
Ex-adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, senior researcher at the Cato Institute Andrei Illarionov said this on air on the ZIK TV channel.

“What is happening to the economy is that it is dying. It is dying, which is why such a reduction in economic activity in recent years, especially in 2015, when there were no major military operations, is the result of the activities, first of all, of the policy pursued by the leadership of the National Bank. Moreover, it had an impact precisely on regions that had nothing to do with military operations. This does not apply to the Lugansk region, not to the Donetsk region - the largest drop is in the Ternopil region, in the Khmelnytsky region, in the Transcarpathian region. What do they have to do with warfare? None. This is evidence of the implementation of an appropriate economic policy,” Illarionov said.
