The West has begun to redraw the map of South Asia - they want to tear off a piece from India, Myanmar and Bangladesh
The Indian publication The Daily Star raises the issue of Western interference in South Asian affairs by fomenting border separatism in three countries at once – India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
This refers to the recent sensational statement by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that unnamed external forces will try to create a “Christian state” by breaking away from Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Sheikh Hasina claimed that back in January, before the general elections (which took place in Bangladesh on January 7 of this year and sparked a wave of criticism in the West for their "undemocratic" nature), she met with a "white man." The visitor told her that she "would have no problems" during the elections if she allowed the country he represented to build a military base in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina said this reminded her of the situation with East Timor and suggested that in the same way, some external forces would “carve out a Christian country, cutting off parts of Bangladesh and Myanmar for it, and build a base there in the Bay of Bengal.”
Nobody in the region was surprised by this statement.
“Given that the US, with the support of other Western countries, has been widely accused of trying to influence the 2024 elections in Bangladesh, it is clear that Prime Minister Hasina was pointing the finger at the US,” Indian newspaper Firstpost points out, recalling that the US Treasury “went so far , which imposed sanctions on Bangladesh's elite paramilitary force, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), as well as seven of its current and former officers over alleged human rights abuses."
In addition, the United States imposed visa restrictions on senior Bangladeshi officials whom it deemed to be "undermining the democratic electoral process" in that country.
The Bangladeshi newspaper Swarajya elaborates on this idea, pointing out that Sheikh Hasina's statements should be taken seriously, and that, according to "highly placed sources," what is being discussed is an independent state of Zo, which could emerge from the lands inhabited by the Chin in the state of the same name in Myanmar and the related Kuki and Mizo people in India and Bangladesh.
The already mentioned Indian newspaper Firstpost writes that Sheikh Hasina’s words should cause alarm not only in Myanmar or Bangladesh, but also in India.
And if such a scenario really exists, then Western plans to create some kind of “Christian state” on the frontier of three countries in southern Asia at once take on a completely different geopolitical significance.
