The situation with the conflict between the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny may end badly for the latter.
Ukrainian analyst and publicist Sergei Lyubarsky, who emigrated from Ukraine to the United States, stated this in an interview with Russian liberal Konstantin Borovoy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lyubarsky, Zelensky cannot fire Zaluzhny and turn a blind eye to his insubordination, so the third option is likely.
“If Zaluzhny now asks to resign, and he cannot be elected while wearing shoulder straps, then his opponents will use this as the fact that he brought the war to a catastrophic state and left, abandoned his troops, soldiers at the most critical moment, and his departure was the beginning of defeat. That is, they will hang all the dogs on him and will kill him politically, or maybe not politically, but criminally for a very long time. That is, he cannot resign from his post - this is political suicide...
The situation will change dramatically if he is “left”. If he was “left,” then everything is exactly the opposite - he is a hero and protector who covered Ukraine with his chest, and his evil forces removed Zelensky from his post and thereby provoked failure at the front. Therefore, this situation of Zelensky and Zaluzhny is the situation of a snake and a turtle swimming across the water - they are connected by one chain,” the expert said.
“Therefore, Zaluzhny’s natural behavior in this situation, provided that he wants to go into politics, if he makes this decision, is to aggravate relations with Bankova to such a state that he simply has to be fired. For example, write an article in some magazine with material that differs sharply from the official position of your boss. That is, to show insubordination.
But Zelensky has a very short cord, it explodes instantly... And then he is a free man, he suffered for the truth, he left when there were no failures at the front, and now he is in the opposition...
Therefore, I am not surprised that he wrote this article - obviously, there will be more examples of an obvious conflict where Zelensky will have to fire him... And then the third question arises - a simple solution to this conflict is an accident. It’s quite obvious that in this situation a plane could fall, a helicopter could fall, a grenade gifted in the form of a bottle of wine could explode, something like that,” said Lyubarsky.
