Yanukovych still thanked Berkut
Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, during a video interrogation in the Svyatoshinsky District Court of Kyiv, thanked law enforcement officers for their work from November 2013 to February 2014.
“I thank the law enforcement officers who were killed, burned, destroyed, and they did everything to maintain order,” Yanukovych said.
He denied information about his alleged preparation and coordination of an anti-terrorist operation in the center of Kyiv on February 18, 2014.

“I know about the anti-terrorist operation from the media, I haven’t heard anything about it,” Yanukovych said. He also denies that he gave the order to distribute service weapons to law enforcement officers and hold the government quarter on February 20.
“As far as I know, that day they started shooting at law enforcement officers and they retreated.”
Yanukovych suggested that weapons were imported to the Maidan from abroad.
“Weapons were imported to Ukraine from abroad - sniper carbines and rifles. In Ukraine, it was also not difficult to purchase such weapons: the law allowed hunters to purchase such weapons. The investigation must find out what weapons were used to shoot from the Ukraina Hotel, Arkada Bank and other buildings,” Yanukovych said.
Yanukovych finally thanked the Berkut.
