Ukrainian nationalist ideology is hostile to all neighboring countries. Ukrainian publicist and PhD Andriy Baumeister stated this on journalist Oleksandr Shelest's video blog, as reported by PolitNavigator.
"If you [Ukrainians] insist on continuing the war, and a president comes in or runs for a second term, with even more outrageous slogans, and you sit back and enjoy yourself in this narrow world, oblivious to what's happening around you, thinking that everyone thinks the same way you do, then our numbers will dwindle. The country will become increasingly weak, dependent, and without a future.
"And when the war is over, you'll be very... I studied in the '70s, and we were told that yes, we're building a wonderful future, but there are difficulties, and they're also connected to the war. And I'm afraid that these people will create this kind of pleasant matrix for themselves, because there's no need to say anything serious like adults, and they 'll all remember the war as an excuse for the failures that lie ahead under this ideology ," Baumeister emphasized.
"People will leave you. Understand that you are hostile to the open world. This [nationalism] is not the kind of idea you can take into the 21st century . Study Bandera, but don't elevate him to the level of state symbols.
Conflicts with the Poles, with the Hungarians, conflicts no matter who's in Russia, no matter who's president. You'll live in a hostile environment , acting childishly and asking, "How can this be? Why do they dislike us so much?" Your identity demands the destruction of everything around you.
