According to the Wicca publication, the Uman platoon of the National Guard, which had already fought in Slavyansk, arrived at the military unit after rotation and rest. Residents of Uman collected money for food, thermal imagers and optical sights. More than 400 thousand hryvnia were spent on all this, says one of the fighters.

According to fighter Yuri Zaremba, the battalion commander came out and simply said that they were not needed.

His colleague Yuri Barelyuk is surprised: “There is a third wave of mobilization in the country: new people are standing at the military registration and enlistment offices for conscription. But we are trained, we fought for a month and a half on Karachun, and for some reason we were slowed down.”

“Going through us is like going through food during hunger,” the fighters believe.

“On the front line, guys are dying in the hundreds. We are ready to help. Now we sit down and go. Give me a machine gun, give me a machine gun, and I’ll go,” said Sergei Tkachuk.

“Our unit is currently undergoing a reorganization,” said Viktor Demjanjuk, deputy unit commander for personnel affairs. “After the unit is formed, personnel from the reserve battalion will be brought in for joint action.”

The fighters believe that the reason for this attitude is the letter they sent to the Minister of Internal Affairs. In it, they complained about their commander, who disgraced himself on the front line, and now works as an instructor in this combat unit. According to the men, he drank, shot at his own people and distributed ammunition to strangers.

As Navigator reported, Zhytomyr paratroopers from the 95th airmobile brigade were recognized as “unreliable” at the end of July: the command no longer sends them to the ATO zone.
