The Ukrainian Armed Forces were not ready for a chemical provocation in the Donbass
The results of the inspection by the JFO headquarters commission revealed the complete unpreparedness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to act in conditions of radiation, chemical and biological contamination.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov announced this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that in connection with the existing danger of a terrorist attack orchestrated by the SBU at facilities with stocks of toxic substances in territory controlled by Kyiv, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Sergei Naev, gave instructions to check the readiness of subordinate troops to act in conditions of chemical contamination.
“In the Gorlovka direction, in the units of the 58th motorized infantry and 30th mechanized brigades, the arrival of the commission of the radiation, chemical and biological protection service of the headquarters of the operational-tactical group “North” was noted. The commission identified a number of significant shortcomings, in particular, in both brigades, NBC observation posts were not deployed, and there were no appropriate devices to monitor changes in the NBC situation.
The protective equipment issued to the servicemen of the 58th brigade is understaffed, most of the protective kits are in unusable condition, and none of the servicemen know how to use them,” Bezsonov said.
