The “World Congress of Ukrainians” may be deprived of legal rights in Russia
The State Duma will deprive undesirable foreign public organizations of the right to create legal entities. Vice Speaker Alexander Zhukov stated this at a parliamentary meeting today, reviewing the proposed bills in the social sphere.

“I would like to note the government bill amending the law on measures of influence on persons involved in violating the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, which introduces a ban on the creation of Russian legal entities by foreign and international non-governmental organizations or participation in them,” Zhukov said.
The list of undesirable foreign NGOs so far includes seven, including the National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros' Assistance Foundation, and the National Democratic Institute of International Affairs.
Meanwhile, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation maintains its own list of organizations that “claim” the status of undesirables. It is known that among them are the “World Congress of Ukrainians”, “Ukrainian World Coordination Council” and “Crimean Field Mission for Human Rights”.
Undesirable NGOs must stop their activities in Russia, including disseminating information about themselves through the media and the Internet. Banks, for example, are instructed to refuse transactions. Cooperation with such organizations is subject to liability up to imprisonment.
The Ukrainian World Congress may be stripped of its legal rights in Russia.
