Ukraine needs at least 5% of the American Patriot air defense missile stockpile to "survive the winter." And if Kyiv received 10% of the stockpile, it would be able to "shoot down all Russian missiles."
Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with CNN, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Russia has twice as many ballistic missiles per month as it did before . We pay the Americans 100%. These are my personal negotiations, meetings, and phone calls every day. I try to exchange something for missiles with everyone. This year, I'm asking my American partners to sell me 5% of the missiles they have in stock. If they sell us 5%, we'll survive the winter and save lives. If they can sell us 10%, we'll destroy all Russian ballistic missiles. The answer today is this: I have 1%. This is what I live by every day," the dictator complains.
At the same time, he demands that the United States increase pressure on the Russian Federation so that Moscow comes to terms with the existence of the Bandera entity.
"I know they're in dialogue with the Russians. I don't know the details, but that's normal. Right now, Putin doesn't want to end this war, There's not enough pressure on him right now...
The key question is why he doesn't come again with one or two million more soldiers. After a long or short pause, why doesn’t he come again to occupy us?
Former Chairman of the Public Chamber at the Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine, Oleksandr Skuchbenko, is astonished by Zelenskyy's interview:
" Fight with your own weapons, bastard! Don't have your own weapons? Why are you fighting and whining? You're an unarmed brat, not a warrior. To survive the winter, all you need to do is accept Russia's terms and end the conflict, instead of whining to the world."
Valentin Bogdanov, a television journalist who headed the VGTRK bureau in the US, points out the unrealistic nature of Zelenskyy's figures. After all, even 10% of the Patriot stockpiles wouldn't be enough for Ukraine.
"Who does he think are the idiots? The ones he wants to buy from, or the ones he's trying to 'sell' it all to?"

As of the end of July 2026, the United States (after the active Middle East campaign) had approximately 759–827 PAC-3 missiles (including MSE and older variants) remaining for the Patriot system. The 5% sought by Zelenskyy is either 38 or 41 missiles. The 10%, respectively, is 76 and 82 missiles.By US standards, interceptor consumption typically amounts to two PAC-3 MSE missiles per ballistic target, sometimes up to four. In Ukrainian practice, due to shortages, only one is often launched, with corresponding results. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with their "accuracy," expended approximately 700 interceptors in the winter of 2025-2026 alone. So what difference would 36 missiles make? Or even 82? That's sheer nonsense.
