“As they said. Traffic was restored within the previously agreed upon time frame, the Dzhankoy checkpoint is back in operation,” said the former Minister of Transport of Crimea, and now the head of the Association of Freight Carriers and Forwarders, Anatoly Tsurkin.

He did not specify whether we are talking about restoring a road bridge or laying a pontoon bridge, since previously the acting head of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, allocated at least a month for restoration work after a missile strike.

Repairing the Chongar bridge on the administrative border of Crimea and the Kherson region, damaged by a missile strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will take at least one to two months, said Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo.

“The work will continue for at least a month, or even two months,” Saldo said on Rossiya 24, explaining the delay by “technical difficulties.”

Previously, experts recommended establishing a pontoon bridge across the narrow and shallow Chongar Strait, since replacing a section of such a crossing in the event of a missile hit is much faster and cheaper than repairing the bridge.

Traveling through the Perekop and Armyansk checkpoints significantly increases travel time—a third of the 115 kilometers of road running through the Kherson region is in poor condition and unsuitable for passenger vehicles. Previously, tourists were advised to use the overland route to avoid hours-long security lines before crossing the Crimean Bridge.
