Military expert: In Crimea, the success of the FSB and the failure of the SBU
Russian counterintelligence is demonstrating success in Crimea, destroying the unfriendly plans of the Ukrainian special services on the peninsula. Military expert Igor Korotchenko, editor of the National Defense magazine, stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on the report about the detention of citizens in Simferopol by the FSB who were spying for Ukraine.

“It is absolutely obvious that the Ukrainian special services, primarily the SBU, are actively trying to recruit agents here, on Russian territory, in particular in Crimea and Sevastopol. In this case, it is important that the FSB was able to quickly uncover and suppress the activities of these citizens who worked for the Ukrainian special services.
A successful counterintelligence operation, the channel for leaking classified information was stopped. In this case, it is the success of the FSB and the failure of Ukraine.
The question here is how successful our counterintelligence structures are. And they are working successfully - we can judge this from this operation and previous arrests of Ukrainian agents and Ukrainian terrorists.
In general, the security system of the Russian Federation, including on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula, works effectively,” Korotchenko said.
