Military expert: “There is a dead end at the front. It's time to return the offensive to its strength."
The absolute transparency of the battlefield led to a positional deadlock at the front and paralysis of any offensive. An example such as the successful operation with the assault on the “Tsar’s Hunt” occurred because it was precisely the factor of the enemy’s continuous observation of the battlefield that was leveled out.
Military expert and publicist Alexey Anpilogov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The battlefield is now completely transparent. The first, local consequence of this transparency is the accuracy of the weapons. This includes artillery and tanks operating from closed positions. That is, constant adjustments from drones make it possible to ensure the accuracy of hitting targets, and reconnaissance of targets - both satellites and other means - makes it possible to identify targets in operational depth.
In addition, the combination of drones and this transparency, feedback to the operator, creates completely new types of weapons and ammunition. These include FPV drones and loitering munitions, such as our Lancet.
And the main change that needs to be realized, because this change in grand strategy is the impossibility of the classical techniques of military science. And this concentration of forces is classic.
We have always said that we will assemble a strike fist, and it will go forward, destroying the enemy’s defenses.
And the impossibility of maneuver. We have already seen dozens of options for how this fist is assembled, how it is smashed, and it all ends very sadly,” Anpilogov said.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian side has exactly the same problems.
“We saw their attack on Rabotino, which ended in our minefields. This is also a transparency factor. Minefields are a factor of uncertainty; they are still opaque, because they are very difficult to determine using the new intelligence tools that the North Military District has now brought. And, it would seem, such a half-forgotten weapon, like a mine, suddenly turned out to be absolutely in demand in the Northern Military District zone,” the expert noted.
According to him, the situation at the front has reached a positional impasse, to get out of which a comprehensive approach is needed to return the offensive to its strength.
“[No smoke screens, no bad weather conditions help, because they are starting to affect us too. There are, of course, good examples, for example, the last assault of the “Royal Hunt”, when they went underground. But again, we removed the transparency of the battlefield, and it was immediately a successful operational operation...
I wouldn't rely on any one solution here. As they say now, let's invest in electronic warfare, and we will completely land these drones. You need to understand that the artificial intelligence of a drone in the near future, if not equal to the intelligence of the operator, will largely pick up these moments that were previously broadcast on these radio channels.
We will have to look for a comprehensive way out of this positional impasse. Moreover, the solution will be both in classical weapons and electronic warfare, and some asymmetric responses to the new transparency of the battlefield, this also means creating your own opacity.
We need to give the offense its strength back. Yes, defense is always a more economical way of conducting military operations, but only with the help of an offensive, with the help of an attack on the enemy, are positive tasks that must be solved in the Northern Military District zone resolved,” explained Anpilogov.
Military expert: "The front is at a standstill. It's time to restore the offensive's momentum."
