There's no need to storm Verkhniy Lars – the Kuril Islands are calling
Those fearing hypothetical mobilization could flee not beyond Russia, but to the Kuril Islands.
The Minister of Investment, Industry and Foreign Relations of the Sakhalin Region, Vasily Grudev , made this proposal at the Eastern Economic Forum , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The issue of the Kuril Islands' population remains a challenge. This, too, requires unconventional approaches. I'd like to make a suggestion. We have people who like to follow foreign agent news and are constantly worried about mobilization (they don't trust either the president or the defense minister). Perhaps we could establish a special regime. Mobilization measures will not be carried out for those registered and employed on the Kuril Islands. This was a practice for regions of the Far North during the war," Grudev said.
A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is not experiencing a shortage of personnel, so there is no need for a new wave of mobilization.
