This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by the famous Russian military correspondent Andrei Babitsky.
“I have one guess, but I don’t know how correct it is. I think that on the eve of two quite significant meetings - Trump and Putin in Vietnam at the Asian Cooperation Forum and the meeting between Surkov and Volker - Ukraine simply needs to increase the price of its own negotiations. If nothing happens on the front line, then, in fact, there is nothing special to talk about. The peacemaking process is acquiring a completely different status. Either there is a war going on, or there is not. “All this is a sluggish ongoing process,” the military correspondent is sure.
Andrei Babitsky believes that when shells explode almost in the center of the city, this means that some significant efforts need to be made, to look for ways to resolve the conflict.
“This is a rate increase. Ukraine is trying to raise its own price in negotiations in which it will not participate,” summed up the agency’s interlocutor.
